Wonderful World Art Gallery is opening an exhibition inspired by Maurice Sendak's "Where the Wild Things Are".

To Celebrate the 30+ original Maurice Sendak drawings now in the Gallery, we have asked 12 Artists to create an original work of art, in their style, based on the Internationally loved children's book "Where the Wild Things Are."

As almost all of Maurice Sendak’s original art works were donated to the Rosenbach Museum in Philadelphia, PA, this is exciting opportunity to view and purchase art rarely available to the public. The pieces come from various projects that Sendak worked on including character studies from “Where the Wild Things Are” and “Seven Little Monsters,” as well as drawings used in the creation of murals painted in San Francisco’s Metreon Center.

The show opening is this Friday, Nov. 14 at WWAG (9517 Culver Blvd.). It is open to the public from 7pm - 10pm.

Here are a few more previews of the artwork that will be in the exhibition.

For more previews of the artwork, visit the Wild Art page at Wonderful World Art Gallery.
