CCHS footbal complete perfect 10-0 season, crowned League champs!

Editor's note: The following story is from the CCHS newspaper The Centaurian. It is written by editor-in-chief Ariel Harvey.
It is the fourth quarter. The score is 24-21 to Culver until senior wide receiver/running back Jeremi Anderson, scored the game-winning touchdown with only minutes to go, assuring Culver’s spot as 2007 Ocean League champs. This also marks the first time in Culver City history the team has been undefeated, with a perfect 10-0 record.
The crowd is on their feet, screaming and stamping. Senior James Smith, the Centaur mascot, jumps on the gate separating the field and the crowd and starts the chant, “10 and 0! 10 and 0! Whose house? C House!”
The clock winds down to zero and members of the crowd leap onto their seats, jumping up and down with joy.
The scoreboard, after the after touchdown kick, reads “31-21”. The Centaurs are declared victorious.
In addition to Beverly, the team has gotten the better of St. Bernard, Point Loma, Gardena, Crenshaw, Redondo Union, Inglewood, Morningside, Santa Monica, and Hawthorne in succession.
In a traditional rivalry game against St. Bernard, a Catholic private high school, the Centaurs beat the Vikings 17-14 in the season opener at home. The week after, they took on Point Loma and took a 54-35 victory. They utterly shocked the Gardena Panthers, who were not able to score against them, in a 49-0 win.
Against the Crenshaw Cougars, the Centaurs blasted them with a 30-13 win. Against the Redondo Sea Hawks, Culver City took a 38-28 victory.
On October 12 versus Inglewood, an away game played at Coleman Stadium because Inglewood does not have their own campus field, the Centaurs beat the Sentinels 24-6. This was the first Ocean League game.
In the Homecoming game versus the Morningside Monarchs, the Centaurs not only pounded them 42-26, but wide receiver Evan Cunningham was crowned Homecoming King during halftime. His father accepted the award on his behalf.
In an October 26 game against Santa Monica, an intense rival of the Centaurs that they have gone down to for the last couple years, the Centaurs finally pulled it together for a close 30-27 win. In the game against Hawthorne, the second away game of the season, the Centaurs were able to beat them 50-13, clinching a clear shot at the league title, taking that title for the first time in Culver City history in the November 9 game last week, which they won 31-21. Now they will advance to the CIF playoffs; their first game is this Friday at home against the Leuzinger Olympians from Lawndale.
Top players include running back/defensive back Lowell Rose with ten touchdowns; quarterback Darius Banks, who has run for a total of eleven touchdowns;
